Eugene's role as Platoon Sergeant was to mentor and nurture the junior cadets to become future leaders. He also ensured the discipline within his unit. Apart from being a Platoon Sergeant, he was also assigned the role of Logistics-in-charge where he had to prepare materials for trainings and ensure the cleanliness of the logistics room.

 

In 2018, Eugene was selected to go for the Cadet Officer Course, where he showed determination and leadership skills allowing him to pass out as a cadet officer. He continued his service in NCC as an instructor, conducting school camps and training other schools during NCC events. In 2022, Eugene was one of the few who was promoted to Cadet Lieutenant.

Design and Environment

2021 - 2022

President of the School of Design and Environment

Being the President for the School of Design and Environment, Eugene plans and oversees the events within the school. He also guides the Main-committee members. With the additional responsibilities, Eugene has displayed his leadership skills and better manage his time.

2020 - 2021

Main-committee member

Being in main-committee for the School of Design and Environment, Eugene has to plan events as well as oversee the sub-committee members. With this added responsibility, Eugene has stepped up to become a more reliant and disciplined person. 

2019 - 2020

Sub-committee member

Being in sub-committee for the School of Design and Environment, Eugene has to plan events and activities that the school might want to organize eg. orientation program. Also, the club has to organise and plan community service work to give back to society. 

Taekwondo

2019 - 2019

Member

Eugene joined Taekwondo in Ngee Ann Polytechnic as he felt the importance of basic self defense. He also hopes to improve his discipline and control over his body and mind through the swift and precise movements of the kicks and blocks. Although still a white belt, many challenges have already surfaced. However, with his instructors wise advice and more perseverance, Eugene wants to push himself to bring out his greatest potential.
